Management:

Practice Management:

The Practice Manager and  Deputy Practice Manager are responsible for the day to day running of the practice and the compliance with National and local NHS requirements.

The Management Team are responsible for the smooth running of the practice, the staff, the building, Health & Safety, Complaints and Suggestions, strategic planning, service development. Their aim is to pull together all the various operations into one efficient unit.

Clinical:

Nurses:

All Nurses are trained to offer a wide range of services including travel health, diabetes and respiratory care, well woman and well men clinics, coronary heart disease and family planning services.

All nurses operate a booked appointment system and you should telephone the surgery or call in  to make an appointment in order that you see the most appropriately trained nurse.

All our nurses are registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council and have the appropriate indemnity insurance.

Health Care Assistants:

The Health Care Assistants offer a range of clinical services throughout the week and across both sites.

They are able to provide, venepuncture, new patient health checks, cardio-vascular risk assessments, hypertension reviews, blood pressure and weight monitoring and for some patients anti-coagulant monitoring.

Clinical Pharmacists:

The practice employs a clinical pharmacists to work as part of the general practice to resolve day to day medicine issues and consult with and treat patients directly. This includes providing extra help to manage long term conditions, advice for those on multiple medications and better access to health checks.

Clerical:

Prescription Team:

The prescription team deal with the processing of all requests for medication across both sites, members of this team have undertaken additional training and are qualified in Medicine Management.

Care Co-ordinators:

The care coordinator team are here to help you and are fully trained.

They aim to do this in an efficient and professional manner. The care co-ordinators may at times need to obtain some health details in order to assess the urgency of the problem so they can direct you to the most appropriate health care professional. Any information you pass to the receptionist will be treated in confidence at all times.

This specific role can be highly demanding, so please be patient with them during busy periods and remember the receptionists are working under the doctors’ instructions and to agreed Practice Protocols.

Secretarial and Administrative Team:

The secretarial team provide efficient patient services including processing of referrals to hospitals, co-ordination of non-NHS work for solicitors and insurance companies.

Should you wish to speak a member of the secretarial they are available Monday to Friday between 10am and 12noon, then 2pm and 4pm on option 2.
