BOWEL SCREENING

As of the 21st May 2025, the Lancashire bowel screening programme fully age extended, meaning people will now start to be invited once they turn 50 and 52 years old. This is the final phase of the NHS ambition to offer bowel screening to all eligible people aged 50-74. Those aged 75 or over can request screening by calling 0800 707 6060. The test can detect invisible early signs of bowel cancer.

Bowel Cancer Screening is for patients with no bowel symptoms. If you have any bowel symptoms or changes in your bowel habit, please make an appointment to see a GP.
